Tourism in Albania.

Vlora, 23 November, 2023- During the month of November was held the activity titled "New Challenges of Tourism in Albania" in the city of Vlora. The purpose of the activity was to present an important study for this sector to central and local authorities, clients and partners of the Bank who operate in the tourism sector.

The study was prepared by SRM, the Economic Research Center related to the Intesa Sanpaolo Group. The study analyzed the potential of tourism development in Albania and possible policies for enhancing the economic impact of this sector on the area. In the activity were present Mrs. Vilma Bello, deputy Minister of Tourism and Environment, Mr. Ermal Dredha, Mayor of Vlora Municipality, Mr. Stefano Salmaso, Head of Commercial Office in the Italian Embassy of Albania, Mr. Massimo Deandreis, General Manager of SRM and Report Director, Mr. Alessandro D'Oria, CEO of Intesa Sanpaolo Bank Albania as well as 100 clients representing businesses in the tourism sector. The participants had the opportunity to get to know the research results and the possible strategies to be applied by all interest groups for a sustainable development.

During the activity, a panel discussion was held between important actors in the country in the field of tourism who highlighted employment challenges for this sector as well as investments in infrastructure as key factors for its further development.
